The purpose of CB is to produce tool-watches according to specific sustainability principles in conception and production.
It is focused on the impact of the watchmaking industry, and aims at avoiding, eliminating, and decreasing the chemical footprint as well as energy consumption involved in the process of producing watches, while keeping the watch perfectly functional and aesthetically pleasing.
As an ode to craftsmanship, talents and people, most of the aspects of the chain were revisited, from design to engineering, sourcing, materials, transportation, packaging, papers, logistics… In the endeavour, we developed solutions to inject this responsible approach to as many of the components production as we could.
The production system CB uses is called crowd-manufacturing by Watch Angels. This new system for the watch industry represents the shortest and most efficient process — and therefore the most sustainable one — from the idea to the wrist. It’s also the system which provides the highest intrinsic product value to the buyer for every Swiss Franc spent.
I am also happy to say that while the value of the watch and craftsmanship will be high, the price itself will be affordable!

My main concern is to make sure that my watch creates the minimum possible impact on our planet and its resources.
One of the main principles is to reduce the n° of KM travelled by components which in the globalised watch industry is mind-boggling! (and unnecessary).
I want to use local competences and skills, not cheap labour or resources that come from thousands of KM away.

I am fascinated by simple tools and hand-work. Therefore I am also fascinated by simple but functional watches.
To make something sustainable the most simple principle is that it should last. This means it does not need to be replaced with something new that requires additional resources from our planet.
Reducing the number of components and re-purposing them is a big sustainability gain.

Re-designing the supply chain to make it shorter, quicker and more efficient is what my project is about.
A new manufacturing system called crowd manufacturing ensures that only the necessary activities and people are involved. This allows to share the entire value only between three entities. This allows for an unprecedented price/value ration and maximum sustainability.

I do this because it is our only home.
